Latchi

Next to Polis is the pretty fishing port of Latchi (5 minutes drive from Villa Mia),with its small sandy coves, and a backdrop of the pine-clad hills of the Akamas peninsula.  There you can enjoy traditional Cypriot food and fresh fish for which the resort is renowned, at a choice of waterfront restaurants. There are some small grocery shops, a bakers and gift shops along with places to book activities such as bowling, boat, jeep and cycle/quad/mountain bike hire. The nightlife is low key, making this an ideal location for those seeking a relaxing trip.

Neo Chorio

Aptly known as the ‘Gateway to the Akamas', the old traditional village of Neo Chorio has not been invaded by touristsis.  It is situated 5 minutes walk from Villa Mia in the hills overlooking the coastline of the Chrysochous Bay on the edge of the Akamas peninsula.  The architecture is dominated by stone houses and narrow winding streets which exude a traditional Cypriot atmosphere. With a church, two Cypriot tavernas, a small grocery store and a couple of ‘kafenions' where locals gather to socialize and chat over thick, strong coffee.  The theme of this old village is laid back, and feels like stepping back in time.

Akamas Peninsula

This protected nature reserve is easily accessible on foot, by car or boat.  Walking along its nature trails accompanied by the panoramic view of the bay of Polis is a unique experience.  With an abundance of bird life, rare orchids and wild flowers, It’s a beautiful place for hiking, bird watching photography and exploring nature on foot, by mountain bike or off-road jeep safari.

Beaches

Sun worshippers and beach goers will appreciate the cool waters and gentle summer breezes at the choice of sandy/pebbly beaches which can be found 3km from Villa Mia.  Select from beaches with active water sports like the Anassa beach to quiet coves.  Our favourite is Aphrodite beach, by the Aphrodite hotel where you can use WCs and showers.  The shingle beach is shaded by banana trees where you can hire pedaloes and sea kayaks and there is a great beach restaurant.
